"There are certain things based on strong evidence that we should be doing to take the best care of our patients. The challenge as a physician is making sure you’re meeting those with your patients while at the same time addressing all the things the patient thinks is important."

Measuring Health Care Quality

State and federal health care agencies  increasingly require health care organizations to measure and publicly report their performance on nationally recognized standards of quality care. Nonprofit organizations also have joined efforts to improve the quality and value of health care.

Measuring helps hospitals and other health providers understand gaps in good care so they can address them, and publicly reporting provides additional motivation to improve.

For health care consumers, health care quality reports provide information they can use to be sure they are getting the care that is associated with the best outcomes. Below are links to government Web Sites that report on the care delivered by Greater Cleveland health care organizations.
